The Thomas who married Mary Nall was the father of the Thomas who married Sarah Church. Some refer to the Thomas who married Sarah Church as George Thomas. I have never seen any proof of George as a first name for this Thomas but I have it in my file mostly as a way to keep track of all the Thomas' Youngers. Mary Nall Younger is also buried in this cemetery. She died in 1864. Sarah Church Younger died in 1873. Thomas, husband of Mary Nall Younger died in Williamson County, TN. At least that what it says in my records!. LOL I never say that I cannot be wrong! Brownie, Lol ! I thought about him wandering off to Texas or Mexico with his mules. That was cute :) I just thought there were an awful lot of unanswered questions & maybe this year I would focus a bit more on solving the riddles. Now I end up with more than I started with ! Just my luck :) Leni --------------------------------- The fish are biting. Get more visitors on your site using Yahoo! Search Marketing.
Hi, Leni, I read somewhere that Mary was Joseph's sister and that when Joseph was trying to recruit her to joint the Mormon Church John Mayberry threaten him with a shotgun. I don't know if the story is true. Mary"Polly "(Nall) Younger preformed proxy baptisms for her Aunts and Uncles One of whom was Polly ( Nall) Hogins,I finally found her husband mentioned as Abraham Hogins. She also had two other Uncles baptised Richard Knowles & Nicholas Knowles. Does anyone know about the Knowels family ? Just thought I would give us all more to think about.....lol, Leni --------------------------------- We won't tell. Get more on shows you hate to love (and love to hate): Yahoo! Wilma, That is what I was wondering about...lol. If they ever found him what did they do with him.And if they did NOT find him.How do we get the date of Death as 1834 ? It would be date of disappearance....lol. And if he was not buried...what about a memorial stone ? Was one ever made or found ? It was thinking about a will for him, that got me thinking. Was he declared dead ? What happened ? Oh so many questions. In the papers I sent you from the RLDS on the baptisims for the dead. I noticed that not one of them....Not even Mary "Polly" Nall Younger had one done for Thomas. Yet they had them done for Aunts,Uncles,Siblings & a few cousins. The dates of all the baptisims for the dead are 1841 . I find that strange. Does anyone have a real record of death for Thomas? Any kind of paper that gives the date of death as 1834? Anything ??? They are "trying" to say that Thomas was first married to Mary "Polly" Nall, 1787 in Williamson County and then to Sarah Church. Is that even possible??? That the Thomas who married Mary Nall was married to Sarah Church when Mary died??? Yes....you're correct..sorry about that. It was John Mayberry and not Thomas. Oh, to be seventy again! Oliver Wendell Holmes
I'm wondering if anyone has any idea of this Thomas's first wife, "Mary"? I found a marriage record for Thomas to Sarah G.K. Church on the TN genweb site, under Early Marriages Records of Williamson Co. He would have been around 25 or so when he married her in 1823. She was still his wife in 1850-60 and 70, so Mary would have had to be a first wife. That is, IF in fact he was ever married to a Mary. The person giving the information for the stone may have just thought he was first married to a Mary. Or possibly the person who submitted the info for the cemetery book. I have the cemetery book and it doesn't say anything about "h/o of Mary and S.G.K." in the book. It just lists Sarah G.K. and Thomas right under her name - so possibly whoever submitted the info to cemeteries on-line at rootsweb, added the information themselves. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I do not believe Thomas was ever married to a Mary before he married Sarah Church. Hi Brownie, Thanks again for taking a look.I also do my research like you do.I always check the towns ,locations and surrounding areas that the children or other relatives may have lived in. I have checked Utah for any and all Younger family members or relations.I made a rough time line to see where everybody was in 1834 .It narrows it down to NC,MO,TN,IL. for the most part. I also wondered if after Mary Moved to Missouri for good ...If they had his body moved there?.It is possible. So I am glad you also thought of that.I have looked and looked but no luck. I also checked Texas,Arkansas,Iowa,Missouri,North Carolina,Tennessee,Kentucky, Nebraska ,Illinois & I go back every few months and look again to see if anything new has been discovered. And of course I look at all the other states also. I have also checked the other family plots & areas to see if he may have been buried with the Green's,Fly's,etc. Even the Nall's. And I have come up with zip. Honestly I think that is the best way to look for someone.I get lucky more times than not,Just recently I found a paper about Joseph Younger (son of Thomas & Mary Nall) by looking around where my other Grandfather Andrew Hall was. I knew Joseph & Andrew were friends from family stories. Another trick I use....is to take a map pin point the town where a relative lived And draw a big circle around it. That way it gives me a visual area to search in other counties and towns. I found another person that I may have missed in another county, right on the other side of the county line. When ever I can't find someone & hit a brick wall ,I stop for a while and start looking for a Brother or Sister of that person, child etc. They call it the "cluster genealogy" method. But no matter what they call it,it works for me....lol. Thank you again for trying, Leni --------------------------------- Don't get soaked. Take a quick peak at the forecast with theYahoo! Search weather shortcut.

What I was thinking was that many parents are often buried with the family of the children with whom they live. Many of my g+ grandparents were buried on their property in unmarked graves or in the cemeteries where their childrens' in-laws were buried. It could well be that Thomas is buried in Utah with the Mayberrys. Or he could be buried with the Flys. ??? I leave no stone unturned in my research. I follow every lead whether it appears to be a positive one or not. I've found more things that way. Brownie Oh, to be seventy again! Oliver Wendell Holmes
Another Williamson Cnty marriage in which Thomas Y. was bondsman. On 19 November, 1918 David Fly to Patsey Younger. Leni. Thanks. Could and probably is my gg grandgather. He did live in Madisonville. I never knew he had anything to do with the railroad. Another relative told me he had one of the first coal mines around Madisonville. I guess he might have of needed a train to ship it! Remember my telling you that a couple of years ago I went to Franklin, TN. (Well, my sister lives in Nashville and I go down there shopping sometimes.)Anyways, I was interested in finding Thomas Youngers grave. So he actually lived outside Franklin in Williamson County in Leeper's Fork, anyways down the road a little ways is an old general store and a couple of churches. I stopped by the grave yard and found plenty of graves with the name Church, but no Thomas Younger. I went back up the road towards Leepers Fork and saw another old church with a few graves. I went to the house next door, but they didn't know anything. I see in The Friends of the Youngers book, it tells the tracts he owned. Maybe he was bur! ied on his land. Remind me this spring and I'll take a trip back down there. I was with a friend who was ready for lunch, so I didn't think I got to talk to enough people and inquire about other old graveyards. I'll see if I can find a book on the graveyards of Williamson County. Have you looked on the US Genweb-Tennessee-Williamson County? I plan to look now. I told you before your welcome at my house anytime you want to come to Nashville to see about Thomas. -----Original Message----- >From: Leni Lopez <[email protected]> >Sent: Jan 13, 2007 7:23 PM >To: [email protected] >Subject: [YOUNGER] Willis Younger 1849 Tennessee Record > >Posting this just because I happened to see it.Just in case you have Willis in your line. .http://tennessee.gov/tsla/history/state/acts/tnact-yz.htm > > > Younger Willis 1849 50 18.2 Henderson and Nashville Railroad Company commissioner Younger Willis 1849 50 39.2 Clarksville and Madisonville Railroad Company - commissioner > > >--------------------------------- >Don't pick lemons. >See all the new 2007 cars at Yahoo!
