You're welcome, and it has been fun. You've probably seen my latest submission - I did find him listed as Harmon finally. Oh well. It's been fun but it's time for me to hit the sack. Leni, going back to the John that died before your Alex. Younger. Do you still think he was the son of one of Alex daughters?? In the narrative, it didnt just say he died but that he was murdered. Maybe you can narrow down, which woman you believe was his mother and find out where she was buried. Its possible he was buried by his mother. Besides, that should keep you busy till you drift off to sleep! Hope you are feeling much better soon. Well, maybe I solved the puzzle. in 1910 census he is listed as Harmon Swager - so possibly the census taker heard it wrong or something, because he definitely did write down Hiram J. - but anyway, now in 1910 he is Harmon with no middle initial. I think maybe they got some names mixed up -- it clearly states that Hiram J. Swager is the son-in-law of Alexander and Lizza A. Younger, and that his wife's name is Rachel A., a daughter of Alexander and Lizza A. Younger. This from the 1900 census records. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leni Lopez" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 30, 2007 7:51 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Is everyone sitting down ? Wilma, I am checking that out now ,I am looking at census sheets.I asked Claude if it was Isabella and maybe he read it wrong. But his wife replied & did not say. I think it is tied to the Henry North issue somehow with the names that is. I spotted that right away. Do you happen to have Ancestry by any chance ? If you do and you have time could you search the 1850 Census ? I only have Heritage Quest here at home and I have to go pg. by pg. for 1840 and 1850 It is not indexed on here. it takes hours ! I am doing the 1860 census now looking for any and all variations but as all three children have it beside there names. I think it might be a last name or a side note..like maybe Child of Isabella or belongs to Isabella that sort of thing. That is why I want to know what it said for 1850.Maybe someone could check the "Henry North " household while I take a look at 1860. Thanks again, Leni --------------------------------- We won't tell. Get more on shows you hate to love (and love to hate): Yahoo! TV's Guilty Pleasures list.

Wilma, I am still digging....I saw that also. But as it was Lizzie's Bible and she was probably the one to write it. I think it needs further investigation. I know first hand that the Census takers made an awful lot of mistakes. Hiram ,Harmon they sound alike especially if it was an older person doing the recording they may have misunderstood. And as for my family in the Census I can't tell you how many went by their middle names instead of their first, I have a James Charles Jensen "Charlie" ,I have a Cora Alberta "Bertie" .I have Alma Gertrude who went by Lucy all her life. I have Sarah Ellen who was listed as" Ella S." her nick name My Andrew Hall is down as Hawl in the 1850 Census & Hale in the 1860 Census The list goes on and on. So it is possible he also went by his middle name Harmon or Harm or maybe even Ham .....:) And to think people ask us why it makes us nuts......lol Thanks for all your help today it has been fun, Leni --------------------------------- Don't be flakey. Betty, Thank you. Babella is a surname and I just noticed that James N.Younger & Rachel Murphy had a daughter who had Children by the names of David,Frances & Lucinda. Somehow we will figure this out.I wonder if she was married to someone else before she married Henry North Younger. And we just missed it somehow ? Or it is possible that one of the other sisters of William Alexander married a Babella. I found the name Babella quite a few times today so they are out there. But I think the names have to come from the YOUNGER side of the family as they are family names. In 1920, this Alexander is still alive, same place with wife Elizabeth. (A family of Hendricks living next door). (1920 US census for Linn, Cedar, Page: 9A) I think this Alexander died about 1927 as I believe it is his wife Elizabeth that applied for a widows pension in 1927 for his military service in Mo.
