Leni, can you please have Claude look at his Bible again, and on the David Zebulon Birth, double check to see if it doesn't say December 31, 1847 instead of 1841? David Zebulon Younger's death certificate is online at the Missouri State Archives page, and his death certificate gives his birth as December 31, 1841 which also fits in with the census records. David Z. is the son of Henry North and Louisiana Lucy Younger, as is Frances and Lucinda, the two girls named. I don't know where the Babella comes from. David and his sisters are also related to Wm. Alexander and Elizabeth. Louisiana Lucy is a sister to William Alexander. So, do you think I've puzzled out these names or not? Wilma, thanks for clearing that up. I thought perhaps that he must have been married twice. I think you are right that Mary was his second wife's child. I am so glad to have his complete family. Now I wonder what the C, stands for. There is always one more thing you want to know, isn't there? I thank you ever so much and you too Wilma Hillman. I am sorry about the typo, because I knew your name was Hillman. You all do great work here. I will get the hang of it, hopefully and maybe provide some interesting data. Delores Wilma Norton <[email protected]> wrote: Delores, John C. was married twice, see source notes below, it lasted only a few months, from Feb. to Dec. according to the death notice, so very likely no children from that marriage. All the children were born to his second marriage. Also, the other Wilma is Wilma Hillman. If you see any additions or corrections I need to make to my file, please let me know. Just now, looking at my info, I wonder if the first born child, Mary E. should be listed as a step-child of John? Looks like she may have been a daughter by Helen's first marriage? Younger and family I want to thank Leni, Wilma Norton and Wilma Willman for all the information you found on my grandfather's family. All here find so many interesting facts of people's personal histories and share. How wonderful! I am still trying to get more time for it. Leni, on Jan 29, 2007, you posted the genealogy of Capt. Henry Younger that Wilma had previously posted. I did not see her post so I was glad to see yours. This seems to be my line, but I am confused. Generation 2 is my great great grand parents, Robert Anderson and Edith Horn. I won't copy all of the post, but it states: "To the children by my first wife: William H.H. (not my grandfather), Anderson F., Henry J., Eliza A.F. Points, wife of Joseph A. Points; Robert M., John C., Martha J. Radford, wife of Henry F. Radford; and the legal heirs of Sarah S. Teas, formerly wife of George W. Teas, dec. To my youngest daughter, Julia Bennetta..." On down it states : " 11 vii. John C. Younger, (my great grandfather) born 1828 (Source: 1850 Dist. 8 Boone Co. MO, John C. 22 NC.). He married Martha Jane Angell February 26, 1852 in Boone County, Missouri (Source: Ancestry.com, Missouri Marriages, 1851-1900, "Electronic.")." On Dec 7, 2006 Wilma Willman posted "I have in my records: William H Harrison Younger b 17 Nov 1858 Centralia, Benton County, MO d 14 Feb 1949 Greenville, Hunt County TX m 7 Oct 1888 Greenville, Hunt County TX to Minnie Reynolds b 4 Jun 1872 Duchess NY d 28 Nov 1949 Greenville, Hunt County TX. His parents were John C Younger and Helen Harris. His grandparents were Rev Robert Anderson Younger and Edith Horn." My conflict is who John C.Younger was married to, Helen Harris or Martha Jane Angell. Does anyone know who his other children were. Was he married twice? My understanding is that my grandfather, William Henry Harrison Younger, had several siblings. Would appreciate any information. I knew there was a doctor in the family. My mother spoke of her and her cousin sneaking one of her father's medical books to look at. Medicine was pretty mysterious a hundred years ago. I knew my grandfather was a strong Methodist and that there was a preacher in the family, but I didn't know it was his grandfather. My Aunt took my mother to the Church of Christ, and Grandmother also converted to the Church of Christ, but he wouldn't attend. Thanks for any further information anyone comes up with. Delores, John C. was married twice, see source notes below, it lasted only a few months, from Feb. to Dec. according to the death notice, so very likely no children from that marriage. OK - now I think I've found David. I had him as David T. born Jan 21, 1826 - got this info from Ron Roberts via email. He was the son of James Newton and Rachel Murphy, and James is a brother to our William Alexander and Elizabeth - so there is the connection. And if he died Sept. 27th, 1846, 27 minus 21 is 6 days and possibly Ron had the month wrong???? Possibly he was born Sept. 21, 1826??? What'd'ya think? This all took place before the 1850 census, so there are no census records to verify this, but, it seems to me to be too many coincidences not to be the same man. Leni Maybe I've solved the puzzle! In the 1900 Washington Twp., Cedar Co. MO census, we have David Younger, B. Dec 1847, age 53 m15y to Isabella, TN TN TN; and Isabell, wife, b. Dec 1862, 38, m15y 3-3 ch. IN TN IN -- and, no children listed at home. I've lost the email with the three names you had but maybe this is them, especially if they died before 1900. It should have read 3 ch, none living if this is the case, but what dates were in the Bible regarding children of Isabell(a). Wilma
Leni, I tried reply to your message, this was yesterday, and today it came back to me as undeliverable. So, here it is, didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. Wilma ----- Original Message ----- From: Wilma Norton To: Leni Lopez Sent: Monday, January 29, 2007 10:40 AM Subject: Re: Wilma Take a look at this 1850 Census Leni, the John in this census was the son of their daughter Margaret who married an Allen. It's possible this is the John referred to in the slave narrative - would have to see if we could find John A. Allen in 1860 and 1870 census' to be sure. Since the daughter is a widow, it's also likely that the grandparents either raised them, or helped to raise them. You should also find Geo. Worthington Younger in Navarro, Ellis Co. TX census. There was also a Thomas Younger, age 20 that I couldn't identify in Galveston Co. TX and Eliza age 4 and William age 2 in the home of John T. Merchant and his wife Sarah. The children are listed as Younger's, but I don't know where to place them. They are in Smith Co. TX. Wilma, Thank you. I wanted to know what their initials were if any. It has to be Isabella.I looked until 11:30 last night.David Z. was married twice. So I think the" Isabella" part was to draw a distinct line as to whom the mother was of the children ( Out of his two wives ).But I am still looking.
