I have prepared a list of the males we are interested in. It shows the line as far to the present as Wilma has it. Anyone willing to take a look I'd be very grateful. They include families in Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee (of course), Va. and other states. Well, we finally have something that indicated who the father of Marcus Younger was, and he is noted as being Alexander. Here is the info from our cousin Anne Hunt: -----Original Message----- From: amhunt57@cox.net [mailto:amhunt57@cox.net] Sent: Monday, September 22, 2008 6:10 PM To: Roberta J. Estes Subject: RE: Younger Hi Bobbi, just got off the phone with Helen's sister, they are moving her to a new assisted living home tomorrow, there she will have her own room and hopefully, said Mrs. Jordan, she will have more time to talk with her. Mrs. Jordan said Helen was very happy to receive my letter and tree. I told Mrs. Jordan if Helen could write me that would be great, but right now, things are in a state. I turn my application in to the "Dames" this Friday. Will keep you advised as I find out things. I still believe Marcus' father was Alexander, because in "The Heritage of Tate County, MS" p. 783, under Younger, Anthony names his Great grandfather as Alexander. Anne Now the above information raises obvious questions, all of which I've had before. 1. Why wasn't Marcus listed in the will? Well, this did happen and I've discovered it more often that I ever thought I would in colonial wills. It normally happens when the person who was omitted has already been provided for. The other reason I've discovered this happening is in one situation when the child was raised as the son but was the first wife's by a first marriage. 2. The DNA doesn't match. We have DNA from two different sons of Alexander (Thomas and James) so his DNA is confirmed. We have two participants from the Marcus line and both descend from Marcus's only son John's son Robert. So we know that Robert's DNA does not match that of the Alexander line, and does match the Seay family, but we don't know if his father, John's DNA matches that of the Alexander line, the Seay family, or maybe even something different. We need to find another participant through another son of John Younger. Unfortunately, John was the only son of Marcus, so we can't test another son of Marcus to be the tiebreaker. John had 4 other sons, Anthony, Joel, John "Jack" and Thomas. According to Wilma Hillman's wonderful file, they all had sons. Does anyone know of a male Younger from any of these other sons? The first two were so difficult to find I hate to even think about how difficult this is going to be. Bobbi

Only thing I am pointing out is that they may be his decendants. The one child bares his name. Also, the 1880 census shows that David B.and his parents were born in NC. I'm not sure if the David Lee Younger mentioned in 1793 could be connected to the one in 1880 census. To have been mentioned in 1793 in a will document leads me to think that David Lee Younger might have been an adult in 1793 and the one in 1880 was 8 years old. The David B. age 32 in 1880 was the son of Josiah and Margaret ??, 1880 is 87 years after 1793 -- so I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me. Source: Helen Thomas Allison, 3628 Mallory Rd, Memphis,TN 38111 George Kent and wife Judith came to TN prob in 1840, and then settled in Tate County MS before the Civil War ---- Anderson Younger, son of Anthony, son of John, son of Marcus. !RESIDENCE: Born in Halifax County, VA, he moved to Hickman County,TN by 1853. In 1875, W. Anderson traveled from Littlelot, TN to Wise County, TX. Accompanying him were six of his older children, some married and bringing their families.. After establishing a farm close to Elm Grove Methodist Chuch near Boyd, TX. he sent for his second wife, Sara and their youngest child. His first wife had died in TN and they had no issue. Sara and the youngest child, William Nathan Younger traveled by train to Dallas, TX. William Nathan was about three at the time. Three of his children who were grown and had families remained in TN. Exhausted, ill and pregnant, Sara and her unborn child died shortly after the move to TX. W. Anderson married three years after the death of Sara to Catherine who had a grown daughter named Molly from her previous marriage. Molly later married George Younger who was one of Anderson W's older sons. Anderson W. and Catherine resettled on land in Parker and Tarrant Counties TX ------ Most of the children of Anthony Younger wound up in DeSoto County, Mississippi. In 1846 he lost his property in Halifax. He may have been there as late as 1848. By 1850, Anthony was in Mississippi. Bobbi
These would be related to us. Elizabeth, John and Thomas all believed to be children of Rebecca (Shepperd) Younger and James T. Younger. Upon the death of her husband, James, Rebecca remarried to Roysdan Layman. The Sheperd family Elizabeth is living with are her grandparents. Okay...now go to the 1840 VA, Essex and/or Halifax Counties census and find a Younger with one or two males under 6 and one female under 6. Don't know if the father of the below named Mary was William or not, but here is a POSSIBILITY. Mary Anderson, widow and relict of Henry Anderson of Kent Co., on 12 Oct 1732, age c112, dep. regarding the bounds of Leaven Ham; she recalled that about 50 years earlier her husband, Henry Anderson, and a John James, showed her a bounded tree on Long Point now called Joneses Point. {KELR JS#16:} A widow, she died leaving a will dated 12 Mar 1728 and proved 1 Aug 1735. Named were Alexander Wilson and her brother Humphrey Younger, who was the executor. The will was witnessed by Walter Walters, Ann Usherwood, and Richard Bentham {MWB 21:701} The inventory of her estate was taken on 28 Sep 1735 and filed 3 Nov 1735 by Humphrey Younger, exor. Next of kin were John Younger and James Younger. {MINV 22:114} Her brother, "Humphrey Younger" is the key words here. Another possibility -- we've never figured out a father for Marcus, have we? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roberta J.
