MY Youngblood (in Algoma) also had a sister whose name was "Morningstar" or Morning Star, but that is all we know about her. Sharon, who had some info she shared with me about Daniel could trace the male surname a bit, but didn't have a lot of info about his maternal ancestry, and I find myself wondering if Daniel's maternal side was native to Michigan. We always assumed, because of the fact that the locals and some family actually referred to him in passing as a "half-breed", that the interesting legend was true. I think I might be missing some part of the conversation here. If you were referring to me being prejudice, I hadn't though of myself that way. I always thought that Daniel was a pretty interesting guy, though short of temper, and often not quite endearing. It doesn't bother me in the least that he might have some connection to Native Americans. I thought it made him MORE interesting. If I am a descendent of a native, great!
