Dear Jean, This is so good, we are beginning to speak with each other and hopefully we'll get the job done. There are a lot of unknowns for a lot of reasons, especially if there is Native American blood lines. Especially if involved intermarriages. Especially, since a lot of people couldn't read or write very well and spelled things phonetically. Some of the census records were destroyed by fire. One was not always proud of their Indian heritage back then, they would say they were "black dutch" or something to blend-in with culture etc. Some did not want to go on the Trail of Tears, so they kind of "disappeared". The census takers were not all that great back then and traveling was difficult. Let's see, if your Isabella ? would have married my ? Youngblood, we would have an ancestor with a name lol. Gotta get some humor going here, or we'll all cry. Sometimes, marriages were not always a product of love, we have some people now on the Cherokee list that are saying their ggrandmother was purchased for 2 hogs. Goodness! Thank you for your response. I have had many responses since a couple days ago, it is wonderful !! Now, I'm beginning to believe I really do have a family out there someplace. It is a good feeling. May I post your letter on the Cherokee list and see what happens? Thanks again - hope everyone remains in touch - 'tis GOOD Coz dmx7@earthlink.net
