For those that find records that do not match. I have found the census and even death certificate to be wrong as many times as they are right. Most people 100 years ago and more did not know the year of their birth and even their age was approximate. As far as places of birth, I have a John A McLeod that on every census says a different place of birth for him. His grandson's death certificate says that his father was b Scotland. However he was b. Sabine Co TX. I have the birth records. Sooooo everything you find, do not accept it as absolute! Not until you find other documents to back it up. Use it as a tool to know where you MAY find some more records. Oh and by the way if you know A Scot never call them Scotch. They take offense at that A Scot is a person, while Scotch is a whiskey.
