Pat, Wanted to make sure you saw the listing of Joel on YOUNGBLOOD Research 3. There were two, so I looked them up on microfilm. GA 1840 Joel in Jones Co., p132 one male age 20 - 30, one female age 60 - 70 (Not Yours!) Joel in Wilkes Co., p280 2 males age 5 - 10, 1 male 10 - 15, 1 male 15 - 20 and 1 male 50 - 60, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5 - 10, 1 female 15 - 20, 1 female 40 - 50, 1 female slave 36 - 55. placed along side your line 1840 Census Joel (b: 10 June 1807 would be 33 in 1840 1 male 50 - 60 Elizabeth (b: 22 Apr 1812 is 28 in 1840 1 female 40 - 50 Mary b: 24 July 1834, is 6 in 1840 1 " 5 - 10 Jesse b: 19 Jan 1838, is 2 in 1840 1 male 5 - 10 The 1830 Census Joel is probably the same as the 1840 census Joel, because everyone would be 10 years age younger. Joel in Baldwin Co., p44 has 2 males under 5, 1 male 5 - 10, 1 male 40 - 50, 2 females 5 - 10, 1 female 20 - 30 and 1 female slave 10 - 24. This obviously isn't your line either. So, at least according the records of the 1840 census, they weren't in Georgia in 1840! Wanted you to know that I still have your line in mind while I'm researching. Regards, Joyce P. S. Do you have relatives in Houston? When you decide to visit the Clayton, let me know and I'll try to meet you there. It's a WONDERFUL place. My children and I will spend a few hours there today. They are budding genealogists!
