You asked who my Youngbloods were who went to Texas. They were as follows: They were 3 sons of William Youngblood and Elizabeth Garret Youngblood who m. in Greene County, TN. He was b. in SC., she in TN. Also, there was a daughter-in-law of a 4th son who fought on the Union side, and died after the war, after which his wife moved with her family to TX. They are as follows: John G., b. Jan 31, 1831 in Greene, TN, d. Nov. 22, 1890 in Ellis County, TX. He m. March 26, 1857, Mary Brock, in Ellis County. Martin V., b. ca 1841 in TN or KY, d. Dec. 7, 1873 in Ellis County, TX. He m. 1) Sept. 11, 1862, Vina Rowe in MO., and 2) Mrs. Martha J. Tate in TX. William O.B., b. July 1846 in Graves County, KY, d. Apr. 6, 1903 in Floyd County, TX, m. Dec. 25, 1866 in Bollinger County, MO to Labitha Allen. The son who fought for the Union Army was Dr. James M. Youngblood. He was b. Dec. 16, 1833 in Greene, TN, d. June 24, 1879 in St. Louis, MO. He married Volumnia Orso Xaupi on July 6, 1863, and after he died, she moved with her family to Ellis County, TX. William and Elizabeth also had their eldest son, Alfred Youngblood, b. 1829 in Greene County, TN, who also fought in the Civil War. He enlisted on the Union side with the 3rd MO Cavalry, and was killed at Patterson, MO. He was my great-great-grandfather. His wife and children remained in MO. and KY. Beverly Rich
