I think the confusion about the Abrahams may be due to the fact that another Abraham who was much younger than my Abraham was listed in Burke Co., GA census records in 1820, 1830 and 1840. This Abraham also married a gal named Amy (Smith). There was also another Abraham in Columbia Co., whose letters of administration were opened for his estate in 1797. This is the one cited in the message we all received. This is definitely not the Abraham who married Amey McNeil. He was alive and well until November 1848 when George Dykes administered his estate. Abraham and Amey had moved to Sumter Co., GA by this time. Amey apparently died sometime before 1840. Abraham is listed in the census as alone with 8 slaves. So many Abrahams, so little time!!!!!!!!
