Good morning cousins, I have sad news to convey; Velma Brassell Beuerle died 8 Oct (yesterday). Some of you knew my great aunt as she corresponded with several and met many over the years. She was 94 years of age. Aunt Velma conducted genealogy research for about 50 years and was the one who sparked my interest in the subject. My family and I visited with her this past July; she was well and in great spirits. She was also very pleased that I and a cousin, another niece of hers (Gladys Robbins Wren) had taken up the torch to continue the search for family connections. She was a fine woman, one I loved dearly and will miss greatly. She was born 24 Sept 1905 in Simpson Co, MS to Virgil Vanderbilt Brassell and Mary Viola Mullen (d/o Samuel Beckton Mullen, Jr and Roberta Guynes - if my memory serves me). Her funeral is at Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, TX; she'll be buried at old Willis Cemetery, Willis, Montgomery Co. TX on Tuesday, 12 Oct. She is survived by one sibling, Mertis Elaine Brassell Hassell of Conroe, TX and many nieces and nephews. Velma had no children. For those on this list who are not related to this particular line, please forgive my placing so personal a message. I am visiting my daughter in CA and do not have my e-mail addresses with me. I'm returning to Houston Monday. God bless each of us in our every day lives and in our searching and honoring our ancestors. Regards, Cousin Joyce Zachman, Sugar Land, TX
