Good morning list, I have not been online with this list in a long time. Rather, I've been researching the good old fashion way - wandering through the beautiful South, visiting cemeteries which hold the remains of long-gone, hard-working relatives (and a few scoundrels, no doubt) and digging through old courthouse records! It was wonderful. I connected with cousins and swapped info until my head spun with names. Then, I had to assimilate the paperwork, (bless those little tress for giving me all this paper), determine what went with whom (I gather for the entire family and not just my direct line), file it, and log it in my software (I'm not finished with that chore yet). I've added more surnames to my research and now need a lap top to take with me cause I simply cannot keep all those files in my lap in a tiny courthouse! In the meantime, we finally bought a new computer, a fancy, schmancy Dell L500r with zip drive and more power and memory than I'll probably ever need! ..which also has a stupid factory installed phone sysbem by BVRP that refuses to work and ... oh, never mind. I changed ISPs (thank *heavens* I'm finally off aol), computers (from Compaq which crashed way too often - once was enough, but three times!?!?!) and genealogy software programs (from PAF to TMG - it's a doozy). I am now the proud owner of a rootsweb.domain, which is not up and running just yet (did this two days ago) and I'll be taking advantage of their "freepages" too for this surname soon. I'm about ready to travel again; think I'll head back to Mississippi for a few days to see if I can't answer a few questions generated by the last trip to Georgia. Enough rambling when I know I'm supposed to talk genealogy on this list. For those who've forgotten me :-( I'm Joyce Zachman from the sweet city of Sugar Land, TX and I descend from Benjamin YOUNGBLOOD and Susannah COLLINS. And this list is too quiet! Only seen a peep from Benny (Hi, Benny) and one from Dorothy (hello, to you, too). Am I not receiving the posts? Are you all on vacation? Sick? Restin'? Retiring from genealogy? I found a connection between my Benjamin and one Jacob YOUNGBLOOD while digging through courthouse records in Georgia. I'm thinking that Jacob is Benjamin's father, which is where all of us BY/SC descendants are stuck. I'm not the first to make this suggestion, I just happen to find a document that links them. Regards to all, Joyce
