Dear Folks, In searching for my Holden ancestors of Louisiana--East Baton Rouge Parish, Washington Parish, and St. Helena Parish), I have found some information on Ann Lucretia that I thought I would pass on: The seventh child of Uriah Prewitt and Priscilla Hall, Leweresy Lucretia Prewitt, married one Uriah Youngblood(The Mormon website has some information on him)in St. Helena Parish. A daughter of theirs, Ann Lucretia Youngblood was born ca.1838 there as well. She is recorded in my Holden family bible as having died 30 October, 1904. Ann Lucretia married George Washington Holden, Jr. 10 January, 1865/'66. They had five sons, the youngest of whom, Henry Britton, is my great-grandfather. The homeplace is listed at Greenwell Springs Rd., Baton Rouge. I would appreciate any information on either Ann Lucretia, or George Washington, Jr. that can be provided. In checking the records in Salt Lake they list Sarah Miller Harvey as marrying Henry Youngblood 1832, Sabine Co. TX. The correct information on this marriage is contained in Bk. 1812-1824, pg 132, Marion Co. MS. as occurring Feb. 27, 1817. Seeking information on: Thomas Youngblood M.D. m. Julia Elizabeth Mills on May 24, 1830, Matagorda, TX. dau. Eliza Medora Youngblood b Aug. 28, 1833, d.Dec. 16, 1877 m. Willaim Bib Royall on May 9 1850. William Bib Royall is son of Richard Royster Royall, President of the Ruling Council of Texas, before the War for Independence. I have the complete Royall history from present day to 1500 AD. But need info on this Youngblood Family. I am double related, through my Mcleod/Youngblood (mothers side) and Royall/Youngblood (fathers side). I am intrested in seeing if these two Youngblood families tie into each other. If so then mabey thats the reason i am so wierd. ;-) This date of 1830 is the earliest date I have found any Youngblood's in Texas. The next is Susanna Youngblood McLeod and John A. I have been going through old Royall information that I had not looked at in over 20 years and found another Youngblood connection that I have never researched on the Youngblood side. In a letter written by Mrs. T.V. Newell of Matagorda (TX) on Dec 12 1849 she mentions a new school that just opened in Matagorda under the Supertendant Rev. R.W. Kennon and Lady. The "Lady" member of this couple was Mrs. Elizabeth Julia Kennon, formerly Miss, Julia Elizabeth Mills (Jan 19 1809-Nov 18 1867) Daughter of Thomas Griffith Mills and Eliza Diana Humphry, his wife. Elizabeth Julia Mills married first THOMAS YOUNGBLOOD, MD. on June 24 1830, second Rev R.W. Kennon (Jan 25 1813-Jan 1 1881). Issue from first marriage, a daughter, ELIZA MEDORA YOUNGBLOOD, (Aug 28 1833-Dec 16 1877). ELIZA MEDORA YOUNGBLOOD married WILLIAM BIB ROYALL (Jan 3 1826-Nov 8 1901) in Matagorda, Texas May 9 1850 by the Rev. R.W. Kennon, her stepfather. William had a plantation at Chapel Hill, TX. Hello cousins, Doing research on my family and have come across a Youngblood. My great grandfather, Isaac Franklin Van Bebber, was married to Louisa Ellen Sharp, probably in Kentucky. Louisa was the daughter of John B. Sharp and Nancy Ann Youngblood. I don't have any other info. See "Guide Maps to the Development of South Carolina Parishes, Districts and Counties" - compiled by S.C. Dept. of Archives and History from maps in S.C. County Inventories made by the WPA Historical Records Survey - available most libraries. Pendleton COUNTY (and Greenville Co.) were created 1798 and were in Washington (court) DISTRICT, (1791-1799). Prior to that, this area was Cherokee lands. By 1800, they are again called Districts. (It's easier to understand if you study the maps). There is a similar guide for N.C. - "North Carolina's Confusing Counties".
