Walter and others, Not only does it give you a list of land/patent holders but you can also print out a copy of the patent. Angie
I just found a great web site for searching land patents (original land purchases from the government) from 1820 thru 1908 in AL, AR, FL, IL, IN, LO, MI, MN, MS, MO, OH, and WI. You can search by name, or by area (find a name then find the neighbors); it's very flexible. It's at: http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ Walt -- Walter Gilbert =^..^= waltergilbert@erols.com Web pages: http://waltergilbert.web.com Lanham, Maryland =^..^=
For what it's worth - "The Infamous Letter". This turned up about a decade ago in the trunk of a woman's grandmother, who descends from Isaiah - but it's unknown for certain who wrote the letter. From the handwriting style, etc., it does appear to be quite old. It reveals some very confusing information on the relationships of the IL Youngbloods. Until this surfaced, many of us researching this line supposed that Isaiah, (b. 11 March 1794), was a son of old Aaron, (b. 1760-1770; ca. 1764?), but the letter says they were half brothers. There was about 30 years difference in the ages, but I guess stranger things than this have happened. Anyway - here's what the letter says - some words had been inserted over others, so I 'm including them (....) in the appropriate places, and adding some punctuation for clarity. "William Youngblood, a farmer, married (second) Sarah Lewis and had children, namely: Aaron, Solomon, James and John (a Blacksmith). Second children: William, Sarah and Isaiah, a farmer. Isaiah married Electa Jones of New York state. They were married in Franklin Co., Ill. near old Frankfort. They were married Feb. 5th 1818. They had ten children, namely: Susan Beckum, Emily Carson, Corenia (should be Cornelia) Florence, Louisa Hardin, Livina Corder, Sarah Anne Jones, William Jasper (a farmer), Francis Marion (lawyer), Edmund Dekalb (Lawyer), Rachel Cassandrai, Susan married Daniel Ward, Emily married William Wilson, Corenia married George W. Sturdevant, Louisa married John P. Ford, Lavina married Marcus C. Hawkins, Sarah married John R. Hawkins, William married Emaline Hillen, Marion married Narcissus E. Eaton, Edmund married Eunice Kinney, Rachel married William Robinson. Isaiah Youngblood, a farmer and Old Baptist minister, served two years in the War of 1812; six months as a malitia and eighteen months as a regular soldier. He taken the Yellow fever at Savannah, Georgia. His Physician told him after he went home and got able, (that) he must travel, consequently he came Northwest to Franklin Co., Ill., where he was married to Electa Jones Feb. 5th 1818. His Physician told him that he would either Die or break out in sores with in two years from his sickness Yellow fever. He broke out in sores which he carried to his grave Aug. 1st 1850*. Electa Youngblood, Wife of Isaiah Youngblood, died Jan. 7th 1842. Isaiah Youngblood born March 11th 1794 Electa Younglood born April 15th 1801 (End of letter) This should be 1860, I think, as Isaiah is on the 1860 census of Perry Co., IL; age 70; b. IL (???), living with son, Edmund. - dq The information for Isaiah's family is accurate, but keep in mind that it was evidently written by one of his descendants; the rest probably from memory and might be considered "family tradition" ~ maybe true and maybe not. Note there was a deed from Sam Lewis to Aaron Youngblood in Warren Co., TN - there's no Book # on the index page I have, but the deed is on page 117. (This would have probably been before he moved to IL in 1818). "IF" Aaron's father was, indeed, William Youngblood, this would make William one of the very early Youngbloods - which narrows the field, considerably. Dorothy Q.
In case Wayne cannot answer, (due to the recent death of his father), you can view his homepage at this site: (Hi Wayne) http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/y/o/u/Wayne-B-Youngblood/index.html

Bob, this is not my Youngblood line, but I want to thank you for helping another individual so much! This is what groups like this are all about! Wish I could find someone who could do the same for me with the parents of Joel Youngblood b. 1807 SC. Message for L. Hinson: Have you read the book, "Thomas Youngblood Family" by Margaret Ann Cloys and Ollis Youngblood Smith? One of the authors is still alive, and her nephew is Wayne Youngblood, a family genealogist who you can contact at youngblood@apex.net. This book states that your William F. Younglood who m. Sarah J. Thweatt, was the son of Amos Caril Youngblood (1770/80-21-Oct.1836)and Elizabeth "Betsy____who were m. in SC. She was b. in VA. (1786-1870), d. Lafayette County, MS. Amos died in Calloway County, KY. They had 8 children, and the known ones were Sallie, Elvira, Mary Polly, William F., C.W. "Cad", and Amos Caril II. Amos Caril I's supposed ancestry is also listed, but needs to be further proven, as another fine author has disputed its ascertions. William F. Youngblood (1820-1868) b. KY, m. 1844 to Sarah J. Thweatt. Wm. d. Lafayette County, MS. Their children were Amos Jasper Youngblood, Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" who m. Charles Wesley McCain, Sarah C., Matilda Annaliza, and William. Amos and Betsy were b. in KY, and the rest in Lafayette County, MS. This book mentions the children of Amos Jasper and "Betsy" but no descendancy of any of the others. Charles Wesley McCain and Betsy Youngblood had the following children: Thomas Willmaer, Sally Ann m. Calvin Peoples, Blanche Druscilla m. Wm. Anderson James, Almoth Robert m. Minnie Kessler, James Jefferson m. Modenia Eveline Singleton, Edward Monroe m. Zulu Oregan Pass, Ozie M. m. John H. Ray, Allver Leevert, Joseph Samuel m. Pearl V. Norren, Charles Fed m. Saloma Knight, and Jeffie M. m. Earl H. Welch. The book then follows the descendancy of the families of Amos Caril II and Amos Jasper Youngblood, and Amos Jasper's son John Morgan Youngblood. According to this book, Amos Caril I's siblings were Abraham, Isaac, George, Joshua, and (much later) William, and their father was John Youngblood, b. 17Oct1734 in Ann Arudel County, MD, who m. Mary. I am a descendant of the (much later) William. Beverly Rich
Correction - Henry died before 1830.
Wish someone would unravel the relationship between Henry and Jonathan of Warren Co., TN and old Aaron in IL - Aaron was in Spartanburg Co., SC in 1790 - then he and Henry appear on the Logan Co., KY tax list of 1795 - and in Giles Co., TN in 1812, before they went to Warren Co. - and they evidently all have early GA roots. On the 1820 Warren Co., TN census, Henry is shown with wife (Elizabeth), four sons and three daughters - and appears to have had others before he died (before 1840). Some of these seem to be in the household of Jonathan - and maybe with Aaron in IL. Possibly the reason only two sons and two daughters are mentioned in the 1834 deed was because the others were still underage? Dorothy Q.
I am a descendant of Elizabeth Ann Youngblood who married Charles Wesley McCain in 1868 in Lafayette Co, MS. Her parents were William F. Youngblood and Sarah Thweatt, both born in KY and later moved to Lafayette Co, MS. I believe William F.'s parents were Amos Youngblood and Elizabeth __? Amos apparently died before 1839, probably in Calloway Co, KY. I also think William F. and Cad. W. Youngblood were brothers. Does anyone know more about this family? Jan Hinson
I am searching for ancestors or relatives of Laura Elizabeth Youngblood born 10/28/1837 died 1911. She was married to James Wallus Raulston. Married in 1854. Laura had one brother I know of named Arthur. They lived in south east Tennessee. Marion Co Tn or Jackson Co Ala.

I think Allen might be son of Jonathan Youngblood in Warren Co., TN, but just guess from associations with each other. I thought that Jonathan might be brother to my Henry Youngblood that lived on Mountain Creek in Warren Co., TN and later in Cannon Co., TN. Henry Youngblood and wife Elizabeth had two sons, Josiah and Arthur, and two daus. Josiah Youngblood b 1804 Washington Co., GA per his Union Pension application. D. "Goodspeed Histories of Cannon, Coffee, DeKalb, Warren, White Counties of Tennessee" Reprint from 1887 edition lists Allen Youngblood as being one of the first settlers of Warren County. Another pioneer of the county was Archibald (also called Archelus) Prater, born 1766 in MD/SC, and who migrated into Warren County from North Carolina. The document states that these pioneers settled in Warren County, Tennessee between 1800 and 1810. Allen's father, Jonathan Youngblood was in Warren County by the time of the 1820 census. Allen Youngblood served in Capt William Douglass' Tennessee Militia in the War of 1812. Allen Youngblood was listed in the 1820 Warren County, TN census. He married to Verlinne Prater and their first child was born November 22, 1820. Warren County, TN Plat Book 1 page 94. The Youngblood Cemetery lies to the north of the location of the old town of Clearmont on Highway 70S near the location in which "Miller Branch" crosses the highway. Hi, I'm brand-new to genealogy. I'm a granddaughter of Jonathan Alexander Youngblood, who was born around 1890 and lived in Meridian MS. I believe I can find more names to the next generation past. If anyone knows any info for me, it would be appreciated. Also I am VERY interesting in finding the origins of the Youngblood line itself. I had hoped to start their and then begin my search backwards. Any tips would be helpful....:o) Thanks! Beth

Hey Cousins, I have continued researching my Youngblood line and have been tracing back other lines also. I have found in my Bullington line that my ggg Grandfather Reuben Bullington b. ca 1799 Married Elizabeth Youngblood in 1824 in Hancock COunty GA. Does anyone know who her father is and/or siblings. I am seeing the clan of Youngbloods in Hancock county and trying to put it all together. Happy New Year to ALL! Benny James Benjamin Youngblood, Jr. Fairhope, AL
