    3. Ruth ~ Don't know who the husband of Frances was, but Thomas Youngblood and Elizabeth Yarbrough sold land in Franklin Co., NC to a James Fuller on 1 Aug. 1798. I thought this was Thomas , son of John Miles Youngblood, of Johnston Co., but the deed does say he and Elizabeth were "of the County of Franklin"...so I'm not sure. Witnesses were Stephen Young and Michael Dent. Seems like wherever there were Youngbloods in GA, there were Yarbroughs not far away ~ a lot of them! Dorothy

    2. Ruth Hinkle Kicklighter
    3. Frances Yarbrough married a Mr. Youngblood sometime before 1801 in North Carolina. On 25 January 1817 in Columbia County Georgia she granted a deed of trust to her brother Littleton Yarbrough for her minor daughter Scinthia. Does anyone on the list know the first name of Frances Yarbrough Youngblood's husband.

    1. [YOUNGBLOOD-L] Daniel Newman Youngblood - FL
    2. Jannie and Andrew Baker
    3. Hi! I'm new to this list and thought I'd post some information on my branch of the family tree and see if anyone out there might be able to help me get over this brick wall I've been dealing with for years. I am looking for the parents, siblings, etc of Daniel Newman Youngblood. He was born March 17, 1816 in Duval Co., FL. He married Cornelia Ann Louisa Pickett in Jacksonville on August 11, 1838. They moved to the Tarpon Springs/Safety Harbor area some time in the 1850s. (Back then, that was Hillsborough County.) Daniel was listed in the census as a farmer, but he actually spent a lot of his time as a soldier. He fought in the Seminole Indian Wars and the Civil War. He died July 1, 1876, leaving behind his wife and ten kids: Andrew Jackson, Cornelia Ann, Lugenia, Sidney Semour, James B., Olivia, Louanne Elizabeth, Samuel B., Robert Taylor and John B. If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Jannie

    3. Hi Sharon, Our Youngbloods probably don't intersect unless it's further up the line. Couple of notes on your email... <Thomas Youngblood married Mary Coale.> In the book "YOUNGBLOOD - ARMSTRONG and Allied Families, Frances Youngblood & Floelle Youngblood Bonner write: "Thomas YOUNGBLOOD on tax list in Gun Powder Hungred, Baltimore Co., MD.... married c1707 to Mary, surname believed to be MILES. Their son, John Miles YOUNGBLOOD ...baptised 31 Oct 1708 in St. George Parish, Baltimore Co. Thomas died and his wife remarried to John MILES, presumed a relative .... In 1722, John MILES wrote his will, in which he made his "well beloved wife," Mary MILES, the executor ..." He goes on name two other people, one his stepson, (there's more on this, but the important part is...) John Miles YOUNGBLOOD married, 21 Jan 1729, Mary COALE (see St. George Parish Register) Their known children were Henry Miles YOUNGBLOOD, b. 17 Jan 1730; Mary YOUNGBLOOD b. 7 Sept 1732; John YOUNGBLOODb. 17 Oct 1734 (St. George Parish) and Thomas YOUNGBLOOD b. 11 Dec 1736 (St. James Church, Ann Arundel Co., MD) My Benjamin YOUNGBLOOD b. 20 Oct 1773 GA d. 15 Jan 1860, Marion Co., MS; m. 20 Dec 1794, Richmond Co., GA Susannah COLLINS b. 16 May 1775, Edgefield Co., SC d. 19 Nov 1866, Marion Co., MS All of us BY/SC descendants are stuck here with Benjamin's line; we can trace Susannah's further back. However, this is the YOUNGBLOOD list, so I'll stay on that surname. If anyone's interested in COLLINS, email me directly and we won't clutter the wrong list. There have been various assertions as to whom Benjamin's father may be, but nothing definitive has materialized; no siblings either, which would be unusual in this time frame. I believe his father was NOT another Benjamin, wrong time frame and location, other Benjamin's heirs named, etc. I also don't believe he descends from Thomas YOUNGBLOOD and Amy HOPKINS because Amy's father, Jesse HOPKINS named his grandchildren in a "Deed of Gift" dated 18 Sep 1799 and none of my Benjamin and Susannah's children born by then were named. If I can help further, let me know, Regards, Joyce

    2. Would like to stir up some activity on the list. My Husband was a descendant of Henry Mitchell Youngblood born abt 1817 in GA; moved to Jefferson Co. MS where he married Rebecca Armstrong in 1843, became a Mason and a Methodist Minister. He died in the Yell/Logan Co. area of AR some time after 1891. He is not a son of Benjamin Youngblood and Susannah Collins but is he a brother? Can anyone shed any light on this couple? Ruth Hulsey rphulsey@aol.com

    3. Good morning list, I have not been online with this list in a long time. Rather, I've been researching the good old fashion way - wandering through the beautiful South, visiting cemeteries which hold the remains of long-gone, hard-working relatives (and a few scoundrels, no doubt) and digging through old courthouse records! It was wonderful. I connected with cousins and swapped info until my head spun with names. Then, I had to assimilate the paperwork, (bless those little tress for giving me all this paper), determine what went with whom (I gather for the entire family and not just my direct line), file it, and log it in my software (I'm not finished with that chore yet). I've added more surnames to my research and now need a lap top to take with me cause I simply cannot keep all those files in my lap in a tiny courthouse! In the meantime, we finally bought a new computer, a fancy, schmancy Dell L500r with zip drive and more power and memory than I'll probably ever need! ..which also has a stupid factory installed phone sysbem by BVRP that refuses to work and ... oh, never mind. I changed ISPs (thank *heavens* I'm finally off aol), computers (from Compaq which crashed way too often - once was enough, but three times!?!?!) and genealogy software programs (from PAF to TMG - it's a doozy). I am now the proud owner of a rootsweb.domain, which is not up and running just yet (did this two days ago) and I'll be taking advantage of their "freepages" too for this surname soon. I'm about ready to travel again; think I'll head back to Mississippi for a few days to see if I can't answer a few questions generated by the last trip to Georgia. Enough rambling when I know I'm supposed to talk genealogy on this list. For those who've forgotten me :-( I'm Joyce Zachman from the sweet city of Sugar Land, TX and I descend from Benjamin YOUNGBLOOD and Susannah COLLINS. And this list is too quiet! Only seen a peep from Benny (Hi, Benny) and one from Dorothy (hello, to you, too). Am I not receiving the posts? Are you all on vacation? Sick? Restin'? Retiring from genealogy? I found a connection between my Benjamin and one Jacob YOUNGBLOOD while digging through courthouse records in Georgia. I'm thinking that Jacob is Benjamin's father, which is where all of us BY/SC descendants are stuck. I'm not the first to make this suggestion, I just happen to find a document that links them. Regards to all, Joyce

    3. I also have been looking for a Cherokee connection. It is there somewhere, but I have not found it. There are 6 Youngbloods on the Cherokee Rolls but they are listed as Black Freedmen mix. I have not looked at any of the associated lines that connect yet. It is a long slow process doing Native American Research but am still working on it. Also am looking at the records from Creek and Choctaw in Mississippi and Georgia and North Carolina. The Youngbloods at one time lived in the what was at the time the Choctaw Nation in Mississippi. Ruth is also listed in the Poor School list that you said your gggGrandfather Elbert is listed in. Joel was slightly younger than Ruth. Haven't been able to positively confirm Joel's father -- maybe he and Elbert were related in some way -- maybe cousins. Kathy Wilson Houston TX kwilson@wildwings.net
