    3. Good morning, I received some new information last night, and did more on-line research this morning. And, the Jonathan YOUNG and his son, Abner YOUNG, which I have just found out are on my family tree .. seem to be descended from Othniel YOUNG, through his son, Isaac YOUNG. By putting Othniel Young into a search at www.google.com .. I found this web page from a www.rootsweb.com web site: Sorry. I asked my question too soon. I just did a search for Othniel at www.google.com and found him. He was in RI during the Revolutionary War. This is from a web site at www.rootsweb.com The family herein under consideration has had its seat in what is now the town of Burrillville, R. I., since the close of the American Revolution, in which conflict Othniel Young, who is mentioned below as head of the family, served as a member of the Continental forces. (I) Othniel Young, great-grandfather of the late Charles Henry Young, for a long time one of the foremost dealers in real estate in the Pawtuxet Valley, was a resident of that section of Rhode Island which borders on the State of Massachusetts, in what is now the town of Burrillville, R. I. He enlisted as a private in a Providence company in 1776, and afterwards received a pension from the government for his services. He was drawing a pension March 4, 1831, at which date he was seventy-six years of age. Othniel Young resided in Burrillville, at the home of his son, Alpheus Young, with whom he was living in 1840. The name of his wife is unknown. .. If I'm reading this correctly, Othniel was born around 1755. But, the article does not mention which YOUNG family he came from. If he lived along the MA/RI border in the 1700's, then he could have very easily been descended from the Barnstable County, MA, YOUNG families. And, Othniel's son, Isaac YOUNG, could very easily headed a little bit north into Windham County, CT, where his son, Jonathan, was born in 1820. It seems that both a Jonathan YOUNG and an Abner YOUNG were born around 1820 in CT. The wife of the Jonathan YOUNG who seems to be the father of the Abner YOUNG born in 1855 in Killingly, CT, was Janette DORMAN. ... But, I found another Jonathan YOUNG mentioned in the 1880 Census who was married to Emily ___. They were listed as ages 60 and 59, and were in Killingly, CT. (They had 2 children still at home: Emily and Charles.) I also found out that there is a book on "John YOUNG of Eastham, Massachusetts, and some of his descendants." But, there seems to be two John YOUNG's, one who arrived in Plymouth and one who arrived in Salem (Mass. Bay Colony). And, there was a Peter YOUNG of Salem. ...Does anyone know if Othniel YOUNG in 1700's RI was descended from one of them? Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S. As my previous postings, I am also looking to find out if Abner and Clara (DEXTER) YOUNG had any other children besides Earl YOUNG, born in Killingly, CT, in 1855. And, I'd like to know whether Earl and Mary (BITGOOD) YOUNG had any children. The last part of their lives they were living in New Haven, CT.
