Here's a Young I haven't done much searching on...and the story is: My gg-grandfather, Charles Franklin YOUNG was born March 6, 1863 in Salt River, MI. He married Margaret J. GATES January 27, 1885. (The couple had three children, George Samuel YOUNG, Charles Butman YOUNG, and Margaret J. YOUNG (this baby died same year)) Charles' wife, Margaret, died of consumption in 1890 a year after her last child was born. Family history is that before Margaret died she asked her mother (Nancy GATES) to take care of the two boys. Supposedly, Nancy became an overbearing caretaker and Charles felt left out and offended by this. He disappeared and was never heard from again. One story is that he went to the Chicago World' Fair and just didn't return. Another story is that he went to work on the Great Lakes, and drowned (?) in a shipwreck. It is known that Nancy Gates took the two boys back to Ontario (where?) for about ten years (1895-1905) and then returned to Midland area of Michigan. Has anyone got my Charles YOUNG in their family tree? Thanks
