Hi folks, For some reason, I didn't get the original post from [email protected] that is quoted here! Could someone please send it to me? I have a William JUNG b. 1712 or 13, came to America in 1744 with his mother, sister(the sister m. a SHELDRAKE in America), wife (Elizabeth WAGNER or WAGERAINE), and three children. They lived in Conestoga and around Philadelphia, and made a trip to New River, VA (to visit someone?). Their children were Ann Christiana b. 1737, Jacob Maximillian b. 1739, William Jr. b. 1742, Catherine b. 1745, and Elizabeth b. 1747. Ann Christiana m. John LEECH. William Jr. was a botanist for the Royal family and sold botanical preparations in Philadelphia. Catherine m. Jacob HOFFMAN. William the immigrant's family was originally from England. Robert YOUNG, b. ca 1530 in England, moved to Hesse, Germany. One of his grandsons, William b. ca 1585, moved back to England (London). His other grandson had a grandson named Georg JUNG b. ca 1620 who lived in Kassel, Hesse. Georg's great-grandson William was the one who moved to PA. Anyone recognize any of this, or think we can make a connection? i only have info on this line from the Leech descendents, so I don't know who the Young descendents might have been, although I believe there could be some through William Jr. Thanks, Laurie [email protected] wrote: > > In a message dated 3/4/00 8:26:22 PM Eastern Standard Time, > [email protected] writes: > > << It's been a while since I've posted our "brick wall" . > Philadelphia, German, JUNGs(YOUNGs) from about 1760-1860. > > Rose Catherine MESSERSCHMIDT POSTHUMUS > > ********** > > Rose, > > Are you certain they came from Germany?
