While searching the newly accessible Alabama Virtual Library I found through a connection to OCLC's First Search that James Kimble Young, Jr., of Springfield, IL wrote 54 books of genealogical interest. Following are several that pertain to the Young/Lamont/Sitlington families. He wrote The Young-Young family of Bath County, Kentucky and Sangamon and Menard Counties, Illinois (1794-1959):descendants of Margaret Young...and William Preston Young...with tracing through Virginia & Antrim Counties, North Ireland to the clan Lamont of Argyllshire, Scotland. Published in Springfield, IL., 1959. The Young -Hart family of Albemarle County, Virginia (1774-1955) or, the descendants of Captain David Young (1774-1829) and Mary Ann Hart (1787-1825) (Comprising chapter 6, pages 189-382 of the History and genealog of the Young and Sitlington families in descent from the clan Lamont...Published in Springfield, IL, 1959. Extracts from a Sitlington family manuscript (Scotland-Ireland-America). Publ ished in Springfield, IL, 1958. Random researches on the Thomas Young (1766-1840)-Mary Caldwell (1759-1831) family of Augusta County, Virginia. Published in Springfield, ILL, 1960, 1955. Cataloging note for this item states "Extracts from John Young (1737-1838) family of Augusta Count, Virginia (1952 edition & revised 1955) with subsequent additions. All of these books are listed as being held at the Illinois State Library. Perhaps one of the Young cousins in the vicinity of Springfield could check these items for information or perhaps extract pertinent information to be posted on the Young List.
