Although I do not see an immediate connection, I cannot rule out the possibility that your Young family and mine were related somehow. There is a history of my Greene County, IL Young family at: http://homepage.interaccess.com/~dcastell/ajyhist.htm I hope that helps to confirm or deny the possibility. Young-Glasgow, Ill I am new to this list and hope someone can help me. I have traced my great grandfather, Jesse W. Young, born Dec. 8, 1836, I believe at Whitehall, Greene Cty, Ill. He married Cerrena McEvers, Nov. 17, 1859 at Winchester, Scott Cty, Ill. (I have a lot of history on Cerrena's family). He and Cerrena migrated to Solomon, Dickenson Cty, Ks. Jesse and Cerrena are buried in Glasgow, Ill cemetery. In the 1870 census - Jesse, age 33, worked as a Dry Goods Merchant at Glasgow, Ill; Cerrena, keeps house; children: William ll, Izara 9, Owen (my grandfather) 4, Amlgayell 3, F, Lycurgus, born in March. In the same 1870 census - Ephraim Young, age 42; wife, Anna 35, was also a Dry Goods Merchant at Glasgow, Ill. Their children were listed as Kirtland 14, Ellen ll, Edith 9, Georgiana 6, Edwin 3. I would like to know the name of Jesse W. Young's father and where they were from originally. Since Ephraim was also a Dry Goods Merchant in Glasgow, Ill. were he and Jesse Young related?? Thanks Jeanne Young MacMurray ==== YOUNG Mailing List ==== There are lots of Youngs with the same names, even in the same area. Try to be as specific as possible to get the best results.
