The Russelville Times has this to say of a well known Lawrence county gentleman: R. M. Young, one of Mt. Hope's most excellent citizens and leading planters, was in the city Tuesday on business and honored our office with a highly appreciated visit. Mr. Young presented The Times man with one of the largest and finest peaches we ever saw grow in Alabama. It measured ten inches in circumference and weighed over one-half of a pound—another proof that northwest Alabama can not be excelled for an all-round country anywhere.
