I am looking for my great grandfather. His name was John Scott young Born ca. 1820 in N.C. He married Nancy Jane Treadaway born ca. 1840 in Ga. John Scott died l881 in Cherokee county Ala. The courthouse in Cherokee has burned twice and I can't get any records there. In the 1880 census of Cherokee Ala, it stated he was a School Teacher and had been unemployed for 4 months because of illness.( This census was taken June 5th,1881 ) If anyone can help me I will be forever Grateful.
