    1. [YOUNG] Leven YOUNG-Fayette Co KY. Estate settlement
    2. Hi folks, I got the copies of the Estate papers for Leven/Levin YOUNG, that Leslie Nash, a local researcher, got for me at the courthouse. If you have someone in Fayette Co,KY, this is the best buy you can make. Even if this turns out not to be my family, they are the most interesting documents. They are dated 1841-1843. It comes in three parts, each abt 3 pages. ( 11X17) Very readable. 1. First is the Account of the Personal Estate, and Appraisement of same. ( Leven was a Shoe Maker, it is a long list, including his shop and home.) 2. Is the Sale of the above . ( They got just short of the app. value at sale). 3. The Administration, which I think is the most interesting. Here we find that they made payment for Lot 117 at the Presbyterian Graveyard. ($20). Then they paid James Wilson $8 for digging the grave, and "removing the old body"! Does anyone know why this was done? Could you just get someone else's grave? Who's? Something! They paid for "Gazette and funeral tickets," and to hire a funeral hack. He also owed $111., for the balance on his residence. Then all his debts, and credits, go on for a couple of pages. There is many, many names of Lexington people in this settlement. Those who owed him and those he owed. ( Administors were: Joseph MILWARD, and Charles G. YOUNG) There was no formal Will for Leven Young, but in the settlement, it names the Legatees, and they all received the same amount, so I assume they were sons, (the Youngs), and the two others, husbands of daughters? I will ask for marriage records later on the list, to see if they m Youngs. Legatees: (Each awarded $60.00) Joseph MILWARD Charles G. YOUNG Isaiah KING (sic) A. YOUNG John C. YOUNG L.P. YOUNG S.P. YOUNG George H. YOUNG and L.P. YOUNG, as guardian of G. W. YOUNG There is also a Thomas YOUNG, but he was owed a small debt, and was not listed as a legatee. I will add what I know on the above when I finish the census records Leslie Nash's address is ptsearch@bellsouth.net She charged me $7.00 and that included copies and postage. I did not know Leslie until the Clerk of Court recommended her to me. She is an asset for researchers in Fayette. Co. KY. Carleen Carnivale
