I'm not an expert on european history, but my ancestors were two brothers that arrived on the Loyal Judith in Sept. 1732. They were named Marcus and Matheus Jung. Apparently, they came from Rheinland. I understand that it is something to do with Germany, but I've had so much to look for here, I haven't even begun really trying to tackle Europe. The parents of my two ancestors were supposedly Johannes and Maria Jung. Johannes born about 1685. That's all I have right now though. The brothers landed in Philadelphia but moved to Lancaster, Pa. 2. J Ray Young
    3. Norma I find only one Rev War Pension app for a Jeremiah Young. He was born in 1755 in Greene Co NY. He is listed in DAR patriot index as born in 1754 and married to Mary Strobeck. You might look thruogh the Youngs in the DAR patriot index for someone born in Scotland. I find several born in Ireland. I only have copies of a few pages that contain my ancestor and possible relatives. Depending on which version of the index that your library has you may need to look in as many as 4 different listings. J. Ray Young

    1. Charles YOUNG
    2. Norma Valley
    3. Here's a Young I haven't done much searching on...and the story is: My gg-grandfather, Charles Franklin YOUNG was born March 6, 1863 in Salt River, MI. He married Margaret J. GATES January 27, 1885. (The couple had three children, George Samuel YOUNG, Charles Butman YOUNG, and Margaret J. YOUNG (this baby died same year)) Charles' wife, Margaret, died of consumption in 1890 a year after her last child was born. Family history is that before Margaret died she asked her mother (Nancy GATES) to take care of the two boys. Supposedly, Nancy became an overbearing caretaker and Charles felt left out and offended by this. He disappeared and was never heard from again. One story is that he went to the Chicago World' Fair and just didn't return. Another story is that he went to work on the Great Lakes, and drowned (?) in a shipwreck. It is known that Nancy Gates took the two boys back to Ontario (where?) for about ten years (1895-1905) and then returned to Midland area of Michigan. Has anyone got my Charles YOUNG in their family tree? Thanks

Susan >> Susan, I have an aunt that lives about 10 minutes away from me and trying to get information from her is like pulling eye teeth. When I first asked her for her grandparents names she gave me the wrong name for my great grandmother. I found out the right name by writing to the Archdiocese of Boston for my grandfather's baptismal record. My aunt's cousin gave me an entirely different name for the same great grandmother. As I put in my last message, my great grandmother was Ellen Gill and my aunt had given me the name of Elizabeth Sullivan. Talk about confused? My biggest problem at this point is that I can't get passed my great grandfather's name. I don't know where he was born, who his parent's were, when he was born or even when he died. Some day the brick walls will come down. I know not to rely on the assistance of my family. Beth

I am reseaching the Young family from Jefferson County, WV. I can go to the local graveyards and courthouse and get information, but there are no relatives to get information from. Susan
