    3. John Thomas YOUNG (b. 1804) and Nancy Jane ALLISON (b. 1805) were married about 1827 in Mercer County, PA. They had ten children, all born in Mercer County. Allison, James, Jerusha, Charles, John, Charity, Thomas, Julius, Lydia, and Gaius. Lydia died before the age of 5 and was buried in Mercer County. About 1854 John and Nancy moved with the rest of their family to Jo Daviess County, IL. Most of their children eventually moved further west except for Charles. John, Nancy and Charles all died in Jo Daviess county and are burid there. I'm looking for other researchers of this line to exchange informtion about John and Nancy's descendants. Please contact me if you think you may have a connection. Thanks, janet young berkson

    3. Hi Everybody; Anyone researching the Jung/Young family from Lutzellinden Germany, now a suburb of Giessen Germany. They came to Halifax Nova Scotia in 1750 and eventually settled in Lunenburg Nova Scotia in 1753. I am looking for members of this family that might have stayed in Germany or traveled else where in the world. I have lots of information on the Jung/ Young family in Nova Scotia to share with other Jung/ Young descendants. Happy Hunting Lorrie Young

    1. YOUNG/JUNG from Germany >OH>NE
    2. My German Jung connection is Andreas Jung/Andrew Young who was b. in Undenheim, Germany in 1828, emigrated to the U.S. in 1849, m. Edvinna Brand in OH in 1854, naturalized in Ohio in 1855, pioneered in NE in 1856, d. in Burt Co. NE in 1896. In census records, Andrew Young is recorded as being from Hesse Darmstadt, but the area of his village is part of Rhineland Pfalz in modern Germany. I would be glad to share information with other descendants. Carol West

    3. I grew up in Trumbull County. My Nickolus Jung was from Germany and lived in western Pennsylvania. He was married to Eliza K. Herboldt, also from Kessel, Germany. His son, Edward Philip Young, was my grandmother's father. He married Sallie H. Helms, daughter of George Kellerson (or Kelleson) Helms and Anna Maria Hamilton. Sallie and Edward were married in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, but later lived near Pittsburgh. My grandmother, Edna Georgine Young, was born December 17, 1891, and she and her husband preceded her father Edward to Bristol Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. Edward died in Bristolville, Ohio, in 1944. I've been reading the Young list for some time, hoping to make some connection. Your post is as close as any has come. I'm interested in the name Mary Boniger -- my dad (now 81) tells of going to Pittsburgh as a very young child to vist "Grandma Moniger" -- someone on my Grandmother's side of the family, but I've no idea who. 2. Hi, my Jung (Young) relations too came from Germany. Nickolus Young was married to Mary Boniger. Nickolus's middle name may have been Georg and Mary's was probably Margaret. According to the 1880 census in Trumbull County Ohio, Georg was born in Worttenburg (sp?) and Mary was from Hesse Darmstadt. Trumbull County is on the NE side of OH near PA. They had Margaret Elizabeth (Lizzie) in 1859, two boys Daniel and William born around 1861-66 and two other unknown children (maybe Herman and Martin). Don't know if Nickolus and Mary got married in Germany or if they met in the USA and married here. Any help? J L Murphy

    1. Henry YOUNG(JUNG) in MD/PA 1775
    2. Well, I haven't put my brick wall out for a while, so I'll try again, since there's been some discussion of German Youngs. My 5GGrandfather was Henry YOUNG, b. 1775 in probably MD. He married Elizabeth MORNINGSTAR in abt. 1799 in, I believe, Hanover, York County, PA. According to an early 1900s newspaper article where Henry's descendants gave a family history at a reunion, Henry was the son of Henry YOUNG, who was born in 1750 in Germany, came to the United States, fought in the Revolution and settled in MD. I believe he could have been JUNG, as there were several Henry JUNGs listed in records in Hanover, York Co., PA. Henry and Elizabeth's first 2 children, Elizabeth and Adam were born in 1800 and 1803, prior to moving to Preble County, Ohio in 1805. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks! I can trace my Young family to the 1880's in South Australia but beyond that is probably when they immigrated to Australia and there are only brick walls.....so far! 3. Beth, Where was your Allan Henry Young born? Some of my Young's went to VT, NY & IL. Sons of Robert Young who came to America about 1734. I have met a couple ladies in VT who are from that branch; someone from the IL branch, too. Allan Henry is not on my list. They were from Scotland, however: Not Germany. 3. Hello All! Just found the name of my 5th GGM, Jane Young. According to a family bible, the Youngs (& McCalls) were from "Western Pennsylvania, between two ranges of mountains; the Blue Ridge and Laurel Ridge somewhere near McKee's Port". Jane Young was probably born abt 1765 to 1770 and was married to Richard McCall. Their son, John, was born in Butler Co 1788. (John married Susan Riddle b abt 1803 Butler Co.) Is there anyone researching this Young Clan? They were supposedly Scotch-Irish. Kathy Mahmens <[email protected]> <http://www.rogersark.net/hawkeyes>
