Maybe this will help some one! I have seen Michael Young listed many times. Roland Young LIVE OAK CEMETERY, Bell County, TX John C. Young 1862 - 1884 Lora E. Blair 1855 - 1880 Perry Young 1834 - 1889 Eva E. Young 1842 - 1881 Michael Young 1801 - 1875 OLDEST GRAVE LIVE OAK CEMETERY On January 9, 1846, Anton Jones, President of Republic of Texas, granted to Francis L. Mudd one-third of a league of land. This land grant being in Milam County on the Lampasas Creek (sic). This area was soon to be known as Bell County. Bell County was cut out of Milam County in January 22, 1850. In 1851, Francis L. Mudd sold this par- cel of land to Michael Young for $1,000.00(1). Live Oak Cemetery is located in the Youngsport community. The size of the cemetery is 3.9 acres(2). According to legend, the Young family was passing through the country with a wagon train when their small daughter became sick and died. The wagon train that Michael Young traveled arrived in the area before Bell County was cut out of Milan County. The Youngs buried their daughter where they camped and decid- ed to settle on the Lampasas River. Young was known to say that he had found his "port". The camping site became known as Youngsport. The Youngs were from Alabama traveling in a wagon train when illness struck their daughter. Several other families decided to remain with Michael Young and his family(3) . Michael Young's grave is the oldest internment in the Live Oak Cemetery. His daughter's grave could be any one of the unmarked graves that were cataloged. Mr. P. C. Mitchell sold the land for a cemetery for consideration of $58.00 dollars to W. C. Turnbo, J. B. Stringer and J. D. House as trustees for the grave yard(4). Youngsport was a thriving village atleast as early as 1871 as that is the date the first Post Master was appointed to serve Youngsport, Texas. The Post Office was manned for more than 59 years from 08/07/1871 to 11/15/1930 when it was discont- inued and mail was sent to Killeen, Texas (Killeen was settled in 1882). Four years before the first interment of Michael Young (1875), the first Post Master was appointed in Youngsport, Texas (1871). There are several Post Masters buried in the Live Oak Cemetery. The former Post Masters interned in Live Oak Cemetery were: Jay F. Beach (1819 - 1894), appointed as Post Master on 9/11/1871. Jacob C. Wright, Post Master 04/14/1893, is belived to be J. C. Wright whose headstone is not readable. William David Craig (1878 - 1953), was appointed as Post Master on 11/17/1916. Myrtle I. Ellis (1897-1953), served as Post Master from 10/14/1925 until the Post Office was discontinued November 15, 1930,and mail sent to the Killeen Post Office(5). Live Oak Cemetery is at least 115 years old. To date there are 435 marked and unmarked graves in Live Oak Cemetery. The oldest grave being that of Michael Young (1801 - 1875). The next two internments were Andrew Jackson Turnbo (1823 -1876) and Milly Cosper (1807 - 1876). There are a total of 26 graves with babies being born and died the same year(6). Buel Young 1873 - 1889 Milton Young 1865 - 1887
I am looking for Henrietta, Fredricke "Jettie" (MILLER) YOUNG. She was born in Warren County, Missouri on July 27, 1871. She moved to the Central Illinois area around the late 1800's to the beginning of the early 1900's. Her mother was Maria Louisa(e) (GREBE)-LUNING-MOELLER/MILLER. She had two known siblings Anna GADT and Henry LUNING. This children came from her first marriage to Heinrich Wilhelm LUNING. Her mother married after the death of her father(dd.November 23, 1875) to Johann MOELLER/JOHN MILLER in Holstein, Warren County, Missouri on Octber 29, 1878. Between the two families and several from the Johann/ John and Louisa(e) marriage there were eleven children. Jettie would marry Herman YOUNG, possible from the same area of Missouri she came from. Henry LUNING (her brother) may have died some time before 1927. I believed he lived in the same area in the early 1900's. Most of this information came from her mother's obit. Any information on these families will be appreciated. Spelling of names may vary. Thanks in advance. Jackie
Hi List, I am looking for any information on Vincint Young, born between 1910 - 1920, probally in New York. Vincint's parents were Robert Fenton Young and Frances Zimmer. Vincint had a sister Ruth. Frances Zimmer was Robert Fenton Young's first wife. other than this I have no further info.... Alan Young
This is interesting....I have Young's who went from MA to IL. However, I haven't found any who went to Falmouth from Holliston.....yet! I'd enjoy seeing the names and mostly the places! Have a good day, Rod! Our own Young family bible ended up in the damp basement of a cousin who is the least-interested in our genealogy after his parents died. Sheila I have contacted the seller to see if they will provide a transcription of the family records and to permit me to post the transcription to this list. It appears to be a Mass line that goes through IL. the Bible was printed in 1818 and the records begin with 1799. You can look at some pictures and see some names. <http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280157804> Rod the list owner/janitor

I appreciate your interest in the topic and realize that it is of importance to we genealogists, BUT...we need to remember the function of this list. It is to discuss YOUNG and related genealogy. I've noticed other contributions that tend to drift from the topic. Many of us cannot afford, literally, to have off-topic messages fill out mail boxes.
