Fellow Listees, noticed your interest in the 1850 Wright Co., MO census and wanted to let you know I have all the references to Young taken from that annotated census on disk, in both Word and AmiPro. If anyone would like me to email them a copy of the 43 page file, let me know. Sharing is a RAOGK - random act of genealogical kindness! Sharon Young Jebavy Columbus, OH [email protected]

My Dad's name was Elwin Kemp Young. This is such a coincidence. Do you have any idea where the "Elwin" came from? I've tried to find the history of that to determine if he was named for another Elwin Young or an Elwin Kemp (or neither!). He was born in 1909 in Massachusetts. Sheila, Elwin Franklin Young is my father. He was born in Michigan on Nov. 19,1923. My parents divorced when I was 2 years old. He lived in Milwaukee, Wis. for many years. I don't know if he is still alive or not. I have now idea about his family. Sorry this isn't much help. Cindy in Florida On March 16 you wrote: My Dad's name was Elwin Kemp Young. Hi, it has been about a year since I last posted my one Young, whom I am still trying to find ANYTHING on: Diantha M. Wite Young, born about 1855, IN Married John Scholes in CO on 22 Nov 1874 (I have the marr rec) They lived in IL, then ID, then she died in CO and he went back to ID. She died in CO on 25 Oct 1883. There is no death record, but the obit gives her age, which is how I got the approximate birth date. Husband John is on the 1900 ID census. In the column for birthplace of the mother of the four children, they all list IN, which is how I have her birthplace. I hired a researcher in IN who found nothing. I have searched IN, IL, CO, and ID records at DAR, etc. Nothing, nothing nothing! It was suggested that Wite/White was her maiden name. I included that name in all my searching, with no results. She marr. Scholes at about 19, so it does not seem likely to be a second marr. Also, all the children on census records are named Scholes, so for this to happen, she would have to be married really "young" ha ha ha and had no children with the first spouse. Anyway, if anyone knows anything, please let me know! 1000 thank you's! Gail Adams VA

Haven't posted on this in awhile. Maybe someone can help me with my brickwall. Giles Young born abt 1822, I believe in GA. Died before 6/21/1860 when his will was probated. Married Mary Louisa Evans on 1/22/1840 in Henry Co., GA. Mary Louisa Evans died abt. 1863 in Campbell (now Fulton) Co., Ga. Giles is listed in 1850 census in Henry Co., GA. They had at least two sons, Jasper M. b. 1844, died 3/14/1865 in Civil War prison camp. Newton Edgar Young (my Ggrand) born 6/11/1851 in GA., moved to Texas abt 1876 and died 1/15/1941. Newton married Emily Caroline Argo on 1/7/1876 in Campbell Co., Ga. Possibly a third son William Ricks Young as he shows up on one census but not the next, probably died at an early age. Does this connect with anyone. Charles Howell Young
