    3. I find this post interesting for a couple reasons. I will have to change my thinking about the history of the area. Bedford Co Pa was made from Cumberland Co PA. My Samuel Young was born in Cumberland Co PA in 1762 and this John Young was born in Bedford Co in 1768. We are looking the same time period and possibly in the same neighborhood. I have always assumed that the Scotts-Irish were in the area first and the Germans came somewhat later than the period in question. This German Young is documented in the area so I may need to look in that line. Would you have any James, Matthew or Samuel Youngs associated with this line or any clues for me Thanks J. Ray Young

I am more confused now that I have gotten this information than I was before I received it. Thank you Beth Searching for Easter, Whitney, Doyle, Young, Gill and Fallon

    3. Hi Cindy, Thanks for responding. It's such an unusual name that I thought perhaps there was a family connection! Sheila At 11:22 PM 3/16/00 , you wrote: Sheila, Elwin Franklin Young is my father. He was born in Michigan on Nov. 19,1923. My parents divorced when I was 2 years old. He lived in Milwaukee, Wis. for many years. I don't know if he is still alive or not. I have now idea about his family. Sorry this isn't much help. Cindy in Florida On March 16 you wrote: My Dad's name was Elwin Kemp Young. This is such a coincidence. Do you have any idea where the "Elwin" came from? I've tried to find the history of that to determine if he was named for another Elwin Young or an Elwin Kemp (or neither!). He was born in 1909 in Massachusetts. Sheila
