YOUNGsters, all replies will now got to the sender, not to the list. I hope that this will reduce the number of 'oops' emails. It also appears that I need to remind folks how to unsubscribe. Send a message to: [email protected] put only unsubscribe in the body of the text. Rod the list janitor
YOUNGsters, enough...please. Stick to the subject of this list. Rod the list janitor
Terri, this information sounds familiar. As soon as I return from vacation, I will research this. Nancy
Hi. I would appreciate any info on Mary YOUNG, wife of David DRAFFIN. They had a son Robert DRAFFIN born 1850 at Cavan County Ireland who was married to Christina LOWRIE. They were married in 1879 at Victoria, Australia. They had a daughter Jessie Cecelia DRAFFIN (my ggrandmother) b. 1884 and who died 3 November 1941 at Mildura Victoria Australia. Jessie was married to Richard Augustus TURVEY born 1871 at Rupanyup Victoria Australia. Christina and Robert's other children were Robert b. 1880, Agnes 1881, Isaac 1885, Jane 1886, Albert 1888, Emelia 1888, Stanley 1892 and another Albert 1894. Thankyou Belinda Turvey
I believe Enoch YOUNG (1810-1881) of Washington County, PA and OH is my 3x great grandfather. I have been advised that information about Enoch YOUNG might be found in a book with a title similar to "YOUNG in America". Would anyone have knowledge of this book? I would like to know the exact title and author. Also, if anyone knows how one might obtain this book, I would appreciate the information. I believe that the second daughter, Lavina/Lovina YOUNG, of Enoch YOUNG is my 2X great grandmother. She married James NORRIS is 1850. Thanks, Betsy in Venice, FL [email protected]
Harold, Sandi is right. You agreed to the rules when you joined the list, why get mad now? Fun is fun, but you can do it off line, this is not the place to discuss Civil War slang, internet hoaxes, virus alerts, prayer requests, flaming, name calling, threats, chain emails, or lost dogs/children/husbands or anything but Young Genealogy. I usually unsubscribe from lists that go on and on with nonsense. I am here for only one purpose and when I have 3 dozen emails each day with nothing worthwhile but something silly, then I get upset. I agree that a person should be able to pray as they seem fit, but everyone ageed not to do that here, so give it up and let it be. Sue
Do either of you have YOUNG connections in either Sumner Co TN or in Indiana Territory (southern IL). I have 4 James Youngs in my line here in Marion Co IL and one of them is James W. Their father/grandfather came here from Sumner co TN. thanks J. Ray Young
Kenneth Young wrote: >>>My James Wright Youg was born in 1857. The earliest I can find him in records is in McCrory Ark. He married a woman named Emma Daughtry in 1890. Do you think it is possible for there to be a connection to your James W. Young?<<< I don't know, Ken (may I call you Ken - or do you prefer Kenneth <g>). You can't find your James W. Young early and I can't find mine later. I don't know what the middle initial "W" stands for in his name. . . . . . and the 1850 census (for Washington County, Arkansas) is the ONLY one that I've found him in. If this James W. Young is connected to the Jasper County, Missouri family as I believe that he is, there is a chance that the family was originally from Germany. The only reason that I say that is that I would trace this line to Jefferson County, Kentucky where they were connected to other German families there: BLANKENBACKER, CROOKS, BRINLEY etc. If I ever do find a positive connection, I will post it on this List as well as on GenForum. Jody
Came to the usa from Germany had 10 kids one was my Grandfather Plasent Flavis Young they talked fluent German i am trying to locate any info i can find on them Thank you all for your time .
There is a time and place for everything. I'm strictly interested in my family lineage, and information on that from rootsweb.com. I'm tired of all the off e-mails I get from it. I wish rootsweb would monitor it better and keep the information sent to what it is supposed to be. I don't wish any ill of anyone, but this is not the place for it, there are web sites for nothing more than praying for those who need it. To find them, use any search engine, and you will get a long list of them. Please, I did not sign up to rootsweb.com to get any information other than possible links to my family lineage, and wish that is what it would stick to. I pray that is what will happen!!!

There are many prayer sites available for you to post your request, and you certainly are free to email all of your contacts with requests. I will add your brother to my prayers, and also to my church's prayer list. Linda
Harold I am surprised at you. All you need to do is use one of the many prayer request lists if that is what you want to do. As for blaming Rod, that is completely off base. Were you aware of the rules when you joined? But lets keep in mind the nature and the PURPOSE of this list. While I am well aware some of our mutual ancestors were in dire need of prayer, I feel that there are other places to do it. I will pray for you.... off list Sandi....... they can hide but they can't run
