Hello all, Do you tweet? We now have a Twitter account for Yorksgen. Please follow us @yorksgen for interactive discussion and bulletins. Please note, we will NOT follow anyone who takes the trouble to tell us that it’s ‘time for bed’ or ‘going out for a walk with the dog’ – we don’t need to know all that – Join the conversation! Twitter has a poor reputation in some places, however, if used sensibly, it can be very, very useful. We can keep up to date with events, as they happen, and discuss things that have happened in the recent past or further back in history. For instance, today we are reminded that the Yorkshire Family History Fair is happening three weeks from today, at the racecourse at York. This is a really big event and this year is expected to be better than ever. Follow @yorksfamilyhistory. We have also been told by the press @yorkpress that the police closed the A64 road between York and Malton this afternoon, due to severe flooding – I was pleased I decided to come home a different way! If you have never tried Twitter before, it is worth reading up on how it works. You don’t have to tweet, if you would rather just watch and read what the people you are following are saying, that’s OK. Try it now, http://www.twitter.com and join the conversation! Regards, Janice Wood
