I have to disagree. Twitter and Yorksgen are two completely different things and serve different purposes. Twitter offers the chance to pick up news items usually with links to more information. I follow lots of people for work purposes as well as leisure. The following family history related Twitter accounts are all interesting, especially West Yorkshire Lives and West Yorks Archives. The best Twitter accounts for me are those that don't actually say much.
