hello all, we are having another TANSHELF REUNION and looking for more memories and photographs. After last year's very successful reunion, where over 200 folk got together to watch the video that Jacky had done with photos that everyone had lent her. She was able to use the money donated for copies of this DVD to get a 2012 Calendar & 2012 Diary published. They are selling like hot cakes. Everyone that came (and ones that couldn't make it) wants another get together, so we are looking to use the photos to make another DVD, Calendar & Diary for 2013 So if any of you had family or friends that lived Down Tansh' (our pet name for Tanshelf) then we would like to hear from you. Lots of the people went for a drink in the Ex-Servicemen's Club on Front Street just up from Tanshelf on way into Pontefract town centre. Later Dunhill's took over this building, now the Liquorice Factory now belongs to Haribo. A new club was built around corner on Sessions House Yard after row of houses demolished. Later the Police Station was built next to Club. I lived there until 1971/72 when all houses demolished and lots, of my ancestors & family did too. So we are also looking for help with memories & photos of this Club and the houses that were on Sessions House Yard. My gran Annie HOLT was born at No. 11 in 1906 and I've never seen these houses nor found any on these web sites that have a old photo's: http://www.twixtaireandcalder.org.uk/search.htm http://www.twixtaireandcalder.org.uk/search.htm?term=tanshelf&type=Or&exclude=&include=All&resStart=0&resEnd=20&ao=&thumb= http://www.wakefieldmuseumcollections.org.uk/photographs/index.asp?page=intro http://www.wakefieldmuseumcollections.org.uk/photographs/index.asp?page=hitlist&mwsquery=%28%7BCategory%7D%3D%7Bphotographs%7D%29&mwsQueryTemplate=%5B%7Bcontrol%3DwordPrefix%7D%7Bindex%3DPhrase+search%7D%7Brelation%3D%3D%7D%5D&wordPrefix=Tanshelf&submit_button= thank you, Maureen & Jacky CLIFF, REYNOLDS, PONSONBY, HOLT, TONKS ............
