Hi Irene, I may be able to help, if it was Aireyholme. I know that the Hudson surname does appear in the Hovingham registers, so it is a possibility. I will have a look at the as yet unpublished transcripts held by the Ryedale Family History Group (which is based in Hovingham), and let you know if there is a John Hudson baptised there in the right time frame. Best wishes, Janice Wood ________________________________ From: Colin Hinson <Colin@blunham.demon.co.uk> To: yorksgen@rootsweb.com; Irene Marlborough <imarlb@sbcglobal.net> Sent: Sunday, 19 August 2012, 23:18 Subject: [YORKSGEN] When spelling matters... Hi Irene, Aireyholme is in Hovingham parish, and so Janice (Wood) may be able to help you with this if if really was the farm, otherwise you will need to check in the Gilling West registers for Eryholme Baptisms. Thanks Colin & Janice: If it helps with the time frame, my John HUDSON was married in 1782 in Esh, Co. Durham to Hannah STOBART. They had children named Jane, Hannah, Elizabeth, John, William & George (twins), Thomas, Mary & Nancy (twins), James, Richard and Robert. I believe that John was buried at Chester Le Street in 1835 aged 77. Sorry no Ermintrudes or Bathshebas to make things easier. Best wishes, Irene
