    3. Hi Lin As Martin suggests use FMP or Ancestry to find the entry and then buy the image, both have the 1841 to 1901 transcripts With the 1911 you can use keywords but its not that easy (certainly not as easy as it should be) they also have street indexes If you have not got that far the 1911 is not like the English/Welsh schedules filled in by the householder, Scotland transcribed theirs and destroyed the schedules BMD are another matter As that is not Yorkshire I am happy to discuss offlist if you wish, I have been fighting with scotlandspeople for some years :-) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 28/08/2012 22:05, Lin wrote: > This is partly Yorkshire related as a branch of mine departed to north > of the border (how dare they! vbg). > > Does anyone know of a way of searching effectively Scotlandspeople as it > seems such a rip off to do a search, pay to view each page of results > and then pay to view the image without even knowing I've got the right > people as there doesn't seem to be a way of inputting place of birth > into the search engine and as to the 1911 census.........! > > Lin >

    3. By the way, when you buy credits for Scotland's People they expire after a time but they remain available if you buy more credits. Occasionally there are some free credits given away newspapers, magazines etc. When these are used any old "dormant" ones are reactivated. Martin Briscoe Fort William martin@mbriscoe.me.uk
