I wonder if some kind person with access to FindMyPast could send me the image from the 1911 census with the district, subdistrict, household ID number for James Shaw WALKER, age 75 born in Almondbury, Yorks. Tailor and outfitter. I believe he was in the Ormskirk district with his wife Jane WALKER, age 67, born 1844 Preston, and a son Herbert Shaw WALKER born 1867 in Preston. There may be others at the same address. This is a family that I cannot find on Ancestry yet they are clearly there on Find My Past. In 1901 the family were at 129 Hampton Rd, Southport, Lancs and included two younger children Edith E (b 1872) and Harold (b 1880) Many thanks, Jane
Jane >From your email, it sounds like you have an Ancestry subscription. If you do have an Ancestry subscription, you will find on Ancestry this James under James Shaw WACKER (not WALKER). Obviously a mistranscription. It looks like the person transcribing saw the "L" as a "C". If you don't have a subscription, let me know, as Ancestry does email the image to a friend.
