Yes do write to the Royal Archives if for no other reason to get an envelope back with their embossed stamp on it. Wrote some years ago for photographs of a dedication ceremony in 1885 Swanley, Kent performed by Anglican Minister from Leeds. His Leeds born son had donated the cost of the building £ 15,000. Present was the then Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). Unfortunately little of HRH's photographic collection survives nor was anything in the Illustrated London News. Annoyingly the Prince left Swanley for Leeds which is well covered in the ILN. Typical.
