Be careful Midgely! or you'll get struck off again Janice Wood List admin ________________________________ From: "roy.stockdill@btinternet.com" <roy.stockdill@btinternet.com> To: YORKSGEN-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, 4 July 2012, 12:03 Subject: [YORKSGEN] Fourth of July greetings May I send my best wishes to all our American cousins over there - including those who don't always appreciate my somewhat warped and waspish British sense of humour (!) - on their Independence Day, the Fourth of July, which also happens to be my birthday? And there's no need to look me up at FreeBMD, folks, you won't find me in the appropriate quarter or even the one after that! Because it was wartime and perhaps because my parents weren't actually married to one another at the time, they neglected to register me until well outside the legal limit of 42 days. You will find me in the Jan-March quarter of 1941, registered TWICE! Anyone who can tell me what other name I was registered in wins a coconut! Have a good Independence Day, folks - having said which, you know my view that it was a mistake to give it to you in the first place !!! <b.g.> -- Roy Stockdill Genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
