A young couple, surname Smythe, who became my friends, arrived in Toronto from Britain about 1950. With them was their adopted son, Bryce STEELE Smythe. Bryce was the born son of a young couple who were killed in the War. They were friends of my new friends who immediately took the young baby into their home and raised him as their own, they being childless. The young lad's father's name was STEELE and he was Christened in memory of his father as Bryce Steele Smythe. He was proud of his name, aware of his origin and, when introduced to others, would declare " My name is Bryce Steele Smythe " I lost touch with friends and have often wondered on what path life may have led them. And where might their son be this day, proudly announcing "I am Bryce STEELE SMYTHE. " Might one of our Listers know ? Cheers, James
