Hi A relative of mine - Mary Jane Raines, was born in Burton Pidsea in 1808. She married Isaac Dunn at the age of 16 in 1824 and produced 18 children between 1825 and 1852. 7 Boys and 11 girls. They all survived to adulthood and Mary Jane lived until 1881. I don't know if it was something genetic though because Mary Jane's mother had produced 14 children although a couple of them died in infancy. Also, Mary Jane's youngest child Susanna Dunn produced 16 children of her own - tragically losing 8 in the first year of life. Closer to home, my grandmother May Seeley born in 1896 was one of 11 children - five boys and six girls - and all the girls were named after flowers; Violet, Daisy, Lily, Ivy, Rose and May.
