hello, while arranging a TANSHELF REUNION (21st July 4pm +) I have leant that Fred TRUEMAN officially opened Ex-Servicemen's Club on Sessions House Yard (where we are holding the reunion) 1972/73 The housing estate of Tanshelf in Pontefract was all demolished 1972/73 Most of the families used the club when it was on Front Street now taken back by Dunhills, now Haribo before new one built around corner. The children went on club trips from there too. I will be checking in the Museum and Library for any info on Tanshelf, the club & if any record of Fred TRUEMAN opening the club, but wonder if anyone has any old photos or info they could share for our 40 year anniversary.
