I had a problem with this too. There is a Belton in the Isle of Axholme, Lincolnshire with a present day postal address of Doncaster, Yorkshire and many people living in the Isle of Axholme wrongly state that they live in Yorkshire - but I would have thought that this was a relatively modern day problem.
