    3. Hi Chris,           There was I thinking the list was quiet because you were all working hard after all the "High Teas" and "Fish and Chips" (sorry the envy is showing!) but you are just trying to make us work.        All my families are quite small but Dave's gt. grandparents Samuel & Mary Ann Hamlet, in Lancashire (not far from the Yorks border Mary Ann was born in Yorks ) had 13 children, between 1872 & 1898.   There were 7 girls and 6 boys - 11 surviving to adulthood.   He was a House Painter in 1911 but had built some houses earlier, one of which he lived in.  The house had 3 bedrooms, no bathroom and an outside toilet, he didn't think bathrooms and toilets should be inside the house.   The house was there in 2003 and is probably still standing.         William Hamlet kept hens in the back garden and the story is that he charged his wife for the eggs!   Lorna Kay (In sunny, but cold NZ)
