    3. Thank you to Wendy and to Nivard for checking on the divorce records on Ancestry and Findmypast. It appears that unless I can make contact with someone in the family who knows what happened I will just have to accept that Pamela was divorced, changed her name and then later married the man she was living with (that part I am assuming but it sounds logical).
