    3. Forwarded on behalf of Chris and Lynn. Apologies for the delay, in part caused by the fact we are still waiting on the bank for the new account details. Dear all, At last we are able to give you info on the Yorksgen holiday. The dates are 13 nights from Saturday 1st August to Friday 14th August 2015. We are booked in at the Racecourse Centre in York. This offers 4 star hostel accommodation. We will be in the Annexe (See the url.) This offers single rooms, with shared facilities, which are available for £35 per night pp for B&B. There are a few twin rooms at £70 per night, please consider bringing your spouse or partner as there is lots to do in York for those that do not wish to research Family History. Should these twin rooms not be taken it may be possible to arrange single occupancy of a twin room for an extra £10 per night. The B&B cost includes full English breakfast, free parking, free wireless access and usually the use of a common room with free tea, milk and kettle. In the past we have been allowed to use the race course's laundry facilities. This rate compares very favourably with other venues. For evening meals, there are 2 pubs within walking distance as well as a Chinese takeaway and a fish and chip shop. Not far up the Tadcaster road there is a large Tesco store. The common room in the main building has a microwave which can be used for heating ready meals. As far as access to archives is concerned, the number 4 bus will take you to the railway station and the Borthwick as well as to York City centre. There will be no formal programme as such. We will try to find out if any of the local FHSs have a meeting that we can attend. Usually there are experienced researchers in the group who may be able to make suggestions if you are stuck. Lynn and I do not wish to make a profit out of this, but we cannot afford to be out of pocket. We have tried to keep the outgoings to a minimum, therefore a flat rate £5 will also be required to cover admin costs. Overseas applicants are asked to pay the money transfer charges when making their payments. If coming on a long haul flight we suggest you choose to enter the UK via Manchester as there is a direct rail link from the airport to York. If you wish to come, please contact [email protected] or [email protected] for a booking form. In addition to the admin fee, a £50 non-refundable deposit will be required with the return of the form. I.e. please send £ 55. We are looking forward to meeting you all. Chris and Lynn Thanks for the message Dave. I am trying to post again. Please could you forward to your other lists.
