Hang in there please Dave, and happy birthday. I concur with Nancy. I have been on this and other sites for some years and Yorksgen is by far the best. My suggestion is not to ban "off topic" posts entirely but to bring them to a halt after only a few responses. My biggest gripe is people who are vague in the subject line. I delete using that info, without reading the majority of posts. I may miss a few gems, but I also have other things to do. Time is important to me. The exception is anything sent from Roy. More please. My second gripe is those who don't identify their location. My third is punctuation and the non use of Capitals. I did however read and ponder on the one about writing up a family tree on MS Word. I think all Rootsweb sites have been effected by Facebook. A pity. Murray, I agree with you too. After an "off topic" has been bantered back and forth for a while, bring it to a halt. I have been researching for over 20 years and I am still learning and Yes, I would love to learn how to do a family tree report in Microsoft word. And, what better place than a forum bulletin board from members who have done this and know what to do and what not to do.
