Hello all, I thought it might be timely to remind everyone of what Yorksgen is all about: When I joined Yorksgen many years ago we were sent a welcome letter. I reproduce the salient parts of it below: "This list is for the discussion of Genealogy and History, primarily regarding the Yorkshire area in England. Discussion of migration patterns, immigration, social history, heraldry, historical sketches, census data, wills, family bibles, vital records, web sites, etc. involving this area is encouraged. Virus warnings are not allowed. Test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, are not allowed. No rude comments or flaming in the list. Do not try to impose any other rules or conditions, expressed or implied elsewhere, upon this list. Rules of other forums may not apply here. Do not try to regulate this list. If you do not like the way someone formats their queries or responses, or the content of their subject titles, take it up with me, NOT in the list. This list is for genealogy, family and social history. When considering whether to reply to a message sent to the list please decide if this is information that all the list members would like to know about or whether you should reply only to the poster of the message.
