Hello all..... My paternal grandmother, Floss Haviland, was born illegitimately in Bewerley, 13th December, 1895. Her mother, Catherine, was a teacher at Glasshouses school until she resigned at Christmas of that year. Does anyone know if the school log-books for this period survive? I realise that the chances of discovering the identity of Floss's father are remote but I wonder if the log-book might give a reference to any scandal. Thank you Brian Curtis
Some of the Glasshouses School admissions registers are in the archive room in the Nidderdale Museum. Opening hours etc are at http://www.nidderdalemuseum.com/ I found my grandmother there in 1870-78, but am not sure what other years they have.
