Good morning My gg grandfather John Norris b York August 1825 (info. from Civil Service Evidence Act 1875) supposedly married Anne Jane Whitwell where or when I have no idea. John was a Sgt. Maj. 1st Dragoon Guards - 1851 shows the family living at Shambles York 1861 census shows John in Newbridge nr Dublin as Regimental Sgt. Maj. After 1861 he seems to disappear, 1871 census shows Anne as a widow, 1875 Civil Service Evidence Act shows John living in London and completing many positions the last being 1870 and finishes with him living on pension 1875 Is there anyone on the list searching for Norris?
