    3. RUCKI, Jean (nee Kershaw) May 2, 1926 – Bradford, Yorkshire, England December 6, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Rucki announces her passing on December 6, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Jean was born on May 2, 1926 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England where she spent most of her youth. Her favorite memory of grade school was being captain of her netball team. She experienced the hardship of WWII and was always grateful to have survived that time in history. Jean was skillfully trained as a secretary and worked for several businesses after the war. During that time she met her husband to be, Tony, at a local dance. They fell in love and were married in 1952. Shortly after marriage they arrived in Halifax and first lived in Hamilton before settling in Calgary. In 1965 Jean and Tony founded Air Condition & Mechanical Maintenance Ltd., a company now run by their son Chris. She was always proud of the company's success and the contributions that she made. Jean and Tony raised three rambunctious boys during those years and spent many summers in Windermere together. She was an amazing cook, a keen bridge player, and a talented and creative writer. She loved reading and her Book Clubs, photographing her family, and travelling the world with Tony. She always made people feel welcome in her home during special occasions and made those times memorable. Her sharp wit, intelligence and good sense of humour will be truly missed by those who loved her. Jean is survived by her sons David and Chris; her daughter-in-law Kim; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Derek. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Antoni "Tony" Mieczyslaw and her son Stephen. At Jean's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #204, 2323 – 32nd Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3 Telephone: (403) 266-0620, ext. 112, www.diabetes.ca.
