    1. Re: [YORKSGEN] Fw: Ancestry to Retire Family Tree Maker Software
    2. It is personal preference, I prefer to have my tree, images and data on my laptop and use the great feature of Ancestry and FTM sync so that I can work on my tree when my laptop is not available. I even use my phone sometimes and then Sync back to my tree when I am at home Yes I could still use FTM but as of 31 Dec 2015 it is not supported. I am very aware of progress and how things change, as I use Cloud based software for my job. But I will be removing my trees from Ancestry as they contain many images, notes etc gathered over 35 years of research and will be migrating to a supported software. The new interface of Ancestry trees is also another reason I will not be subscribing again, it is the worst online interface I have seen and have heard reports of places and facts being changed to "conform" to Ancestry, it hasn't happened to me, but I have lost a lot of faith in them. You may not agree Nivard, but we all have our personal preferences and ways of working.
